Job Description
Toronto City Council recently gave the green light to establish the Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation (TSHC) on May 5, 2021. The primary objective of TSHC is to provide safe and well-maintained homes for senior citizens, ensuring improved living conditions and experiences. The corporation aims to support senior tenants in novel ways to help them age with dignity and comfort.
Starting June 1, 2022, all 83 seniors’ buildings owned by Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) will be managed by TSHC. The new corporation will continue to prioritize meeting the needs of senior tenants by implementing the Integrated Service Model.
While TCHC will remain the owner of the buildings and be responsible for significant capital, TSHC will be leasing the properties and be accountable for minor capital and maintenance. Additionally, TSHC will engage in agreements for shared services with TCHC where appropriate. The corporation’s primary focus will be tenant-facing health and social support issues.
